This has been a long time coming, but for those who do not know me, I began my insurance career at a young age, working in my family’s restoration company. My mother had a background in adjusting and my step-father in restoration. I started working in the restoration industry part-time as a cleaning technician for their company while earning my business degree. I then trained and worked my way up to project management which eventually lead me to another restoration company closer to home, where I gained experience estimating all types of property losses, big and small. This restoration experience provided me with valuable property knowledge, an asset in my current adjusting position at Portage Mutual. At Portage, I have had the opportunity to gain experience in other lines of insurance and continue to work towards my CIP designation.
I have been a member of the OIAA for many years, joining the executive in 2014. I was a director, then secretary and currently manage the finances as your treasurer. I also proudly serve the sub-committees for our curling and golfing events. These events are great to meet people and get to know the vendors who support our industry.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and socializing with friends. You will also occasionally find me on the volleyball courts.
I hope to see you all at our upcoming OIAA Niagara events!
